“The Mission of LNMV religious education program is to work in partnership with parents in providing a strong Catholic culture in which we teach our children to know Jesus and His Church through classroom instruction, prayer, scripture, Sacraments, and building community that in turn encourages an active participation in their faith and in the mission of the Catholic Church”
Our Religious Education Program is collaborative effort between three parishes, Immaculate Conception in Lonsdale, Most Holy Trinity in Veseli and St. Nicholas in New Market to provide a quality Catholic Education for students.
The parishioners, volunteer catechists and religious education staff in this collaboration are dedicated to handing down the Roman Catholic Faith to our children. We recognize that parents are the principle teachers of their children in all things, and in particular in matters of faith, and we seek to support parents in this endeavor.
Registration for religious education begins the end of July and has a registration deadline of the middle of August. This allows time to order text and activity books at discount rates and bulk shipping and handling. After the deadline date there is a late fee to help cover additional processing fees and there will be a first come basis for placement in classrooms if we reach capacity in a class.
The LNMV Religious Education classes are held at the Catholic Education Center in Webster (Home of Holy Cross Catholic School) at 6100 37th Street W. Webster, MN 55088. Classes are held every Wednesday evening for grades 1-10 and start at 6:30pm.
The Sacramental years of our youth are very important formation years and while LNMV Religious Education Program does the Sacramental preparation program for all students, the actual reception of all Sacraments are received in the parish you are registered in.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion are received in 2nd grade and it is desirable that all students preparing for these sacraments have had one year of religious education or in a Catholic School in order to build a strong foundation for these sacraments. Confirmation program preparation begins in 9th grade and the Sacrament is received in 10th grade.
If interested in volunteering as a Catechist or classroom aide in our program please call the Director of Religious Education or the parish office. Discounts on tuition are given to volunteers.
